Join us for the 2nd annual The Village Voice Pride Awards. This award franchise is dedicated to celebrating the community as only the Village Voice can, by recognizing leaders in the world of arts, politics and business as well as the local heroes who bring pride to our neighborhoods.
From our advisory board to our awardees, The Village Voice Pride Awards will focus on individuals who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to the arts, civil rights movement and New York City itself.
The Village Voice has a storied history with NYC Pride, dating back to Stonewall, the spark that led to the modern Pride movement. With unwavering coverage, the Village Voice helped bring to light the pro-LGBT issues that surfaced during the riots that took place at Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village in 1969. Forty-eight years later, Village Voice has forged an exclusive partnership with long-term alliance, NYC Pride, for the launch of The Village Voice Pride Awards.
